FC Bengaluru overcame some jitters to beat Dream United 3-1 in the ongoing BDFA Super Division Championship. The goal scorers for FC Bengaluru United were Lalramzhua Khiangte (25), Shajan Franklin (57) and Mohamed Kdouh (88).

Both teams started sluggishly, failing to create any strong chances. Fifteen minutes in, FC Bengaluru United slowly began to get into their stride, looking to attack the opposition. Irfan Yerwad, Shajan Franklin and Aenam K Jyrwa were in the thick of things but failed to convert any of the attempts. The deadlock was broken in the 25th minute – after Aenam was fouled at the edge of the D, Lalramzhua Khiangte made no mistake in converting the freekick, completely wrong-footing the opposition goalkeeper. FCBU continued to press on, but against the run of play Dream United scored the equalizer after a defensive error from the defending champions.

After a slightly sloppy first half, FC Bengaluru United looked to up the ante in the second – in the 57th minute, a straightforward cross by Rakesh Pradhan was missed by the goalie to allow Franklin to head the ball into the goal to get FCBU 2-1 up. The tempo dropped soon after with both teams’ content to just keep the ball cursorily in play. After a few easy missed chances, FCBU finally closed the game with a goal in the 88th minute, after a defensive lapse allowed Mohamed Kdouh to neatly lob the ball in to seal FCBU’s victory at 3-1.
