Sevilla FC is the oldest football club in Seville, founded in the year 1890. On the 25th of January of that year, it was founded as a private cultural and sporting association. The club was officially registered on the 14th of October of 1905, in order to adapt to changes in legislation. Sevilla FC has been the most successful club in Andalusia, with 73 seasons in the First Division and 13 national and international titles: one La Liga title (45/46), five Spanish Cups (35, 39, 48, 2007, and 2010), six Europa League titles (2006, 2007, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020), a European Super Cup (2006), and a Spanish Super Cup (2007).
Additionally, the club dominated the Andalusian Cup, an official tournament held from 1915 to 1940, winning 18 of the 21 editions. Sevilla FC occupies the sixth place on the all-time league table, and is the fifth-ranked club in terms of international titles, only surpassed by Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia CF, and Atlético de Madrid. Sevilla FC was recognized as the best team in the world in 2006 and 2007 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics. As many as 37 Sevilla FC players have been capped by the Spanish national team.
Two of them, Jesús Navas and Álvaro Negredo, were crowned champions as part of the national squad. Navas was part of the 2010 World Cup victory, participating decisively in the final, and played in the 2012 European Cup with Negredo. In January, 2021, FC Bengaluru United and Sevilla FC finalized a partnership agreement as part of the Spanish football club’s expansion plans to grow its brand internationally. As part of the scope, the two football clubs will work together on projects that address technological Innovation, Development & Implementation in the sports industry.
